Museum of Making Music Museum envisions a world in which the joy of making music is a precious element of daily living for everyone; a world in which every child has a deep desire to learn music and a recognized right to be taught; and in which every adult is a passionate champion and defender of that right.

The tour runs 2.0 hours (1.5 hours for pre, kinder and 1st grade) and includes:

- Drum circle – an interactive “hands-on” experience where students will learn about music concepts including rhythm, tempo & dynamics.

- S.T.E.A.M. Station (grades 2 and up) – addressing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math, students will see how an electric guitar is assembled from start to finish.

- The museum’s 5 galleries - highlighting the importance of the Music Products Industry in making, selling and using musical instruments from the late 1800s through present day. Each gallery features a “hands-on” instrument of the era specific to the gallery.

-Innovation Studio – gallery featuring all “hands-on” instruments. Students will be able to play guitars, keyboards, ukulele, banjo, electronic drum set, Strumstick, Theremin, Harpsicle & Beamz. Also featured in the Innovation Studio is our Global Spotlight, a virtual globe which takes you around the world to experience the music of different countries.

** As these are real instruments, we ask that the attending adults in your group help supervise the use of the instruments by your students.
