Join Inspire Charter Schools and Mountain and Sea Adventures as we celebrate the transition of 8th grade homeschoolers.
Come experience the mysteries of the universe and discover an appreciation for natural science and self-discovery at our mountain camp located at Camp Oakes in the San Bernardino National Forest.
Students will enjoy seeing a plethora of wildlife, stargazing at our on-site observatory, hiking on endless trails, and learning about various survival skills.
With high school just around the corner; campers will leave more self-assured and with higher self-esteem. This program emphasizes building character in youth through guided activities that structure the opportunity for students to break their fears, dream big and never give up!

Camper Orientation
Optional Zip Line Adventure or Tube Sledding
Shelter Building Activity: Introduction to 3 types of shelters that one can build to survive overnight in the mountain terrain, after the introduction the teams each design and build a shelter to experience the process.
Dinner served in the Dining Hall (provided)
Trust Walk: Student leadership and influence activity learning how it feels to lead and follow in a group.
Dance Party in Dining Hall
Observatory and Star Gazing: The observatory is one-of-a-kind and gives students the rare opportunity to see with their own eyes the wonders of the universe. Far away from the city lights, Camp Oakes provides the ideal location for gazing at star constellations, planets and nebulae.

Forest Adventure Hike: Connect with nature as we explore Coniferous Trees, Forest Ecosystem and learn to identify types of trees.

This adventure is designed to celebrate 8th graders and their transition to high school.
Families are welcome to attend this event. If your 8th grader wants to come and you are not able to attend with them, please let us know and they can attend with a family friend or we can set them up with a chaperone.
This trip is open to all 8th grade homeschool families.
Enrichment funds chaperone policy: 1 Inspire Student in your family = 1 total Inspire Chaperone ticket; 2+ Inspire Students in your family = 2 total Inspire Chaperone tickets. Any other adults and children, not enrolled with Inspire, must purchase a reservation.
